The Eagle Ford Shale rig count fell this week by one with 124 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday,

In recent Eagle Ford news, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the popularly named, “Denton Fracking Bill” on Monday that allows state authority to override local decisions about oil and gas regulations.

The U.S. rig count fell by three, ending with 885 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 222 rigs were targeting natural gas (a decrease of one from the previous week) and 659 were targeting oil in the U.S. (one less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)373 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Eagle Ford Oil & Gas Rigs

Natural gas rigs in the Eagle Ford fell to 21 this week and natural gas prices traded at $2.89/mmbtu, an decrease of  $.13 from the previous week.

The oil rig count increased to 103 with WTI oil prices inching upwards this week to $59.72, an increase of $.21. A total of 116 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero rigs are drilling directional wells, and vertical rigs stayed at eight.  Karnes county leads Eagle Ford drilling this week running 21 rigs, while LaSalle (19) and Webb (18) following closely. For the first time in months, the Eagle Ford Shale rig count increased this week.  My midday Friday, there were 125 rigs running across our coverage area.

In recent Eagle Ford news, Houston-based Noble Energy announced plans to get into the shale business by acquiring independent producer, Rosetta Resources.

The U.S. rig count fell by six, ending with 888 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 223 rigs were targeting natural gas (an increase of two from the previous week) and 660 were targeting oil in the U.S. (eight less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)373 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Natural gas rigs in the Eagle Ford increased to 23 this week and natural gas prices traded at $3.02/mmbtu, an increase of  $.14 from the previous week.

The oil rig count stayed flat at 101. WTI oil prices continued to inch upwards this week to $59.51, an increase of $.12. A total of 115 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, two rigs are drilling directional wells, and vertical rigs stayed at eight.  Karnes and Webb counties are both running 19 rigs this week with DeWitt (17) and LaSalle (16) following closely. The Eagle Ford Shale rig count continues to fall and ended the week at 122 rigs running across our coverage area. In recent Eagle Ford news, another round of earthquakes hit north Texas this week, bringing the total number to 60 in the past year. The latest quakes were reported only two weeks after new evidence links fracking with increased seismic activity.

The U.S. rig count fell again this week by 11 ending, ending with 894 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 221 rigs were targeting natural gas (and decrease of one from the previous week) and 668 were targeting oil in the U.S. (11 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)379 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Natural gas rigs in the Eagle Ford remained flat this week at 21 rigs. Natural gas prices traded at $2.88/mmbtu, an increase of  $.09 from the previous week.

The oil rig count fell to 101, down five from this time last week. WTI oil prices continued to inch upwards this week to $59.39, an increase of $.72. A total of 113 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero rigs are drilling directional wells, and vertical rigs stayed at nine.  Karnes and Webb counties are both running 18 rigs this week with DeWitt (16) and LaSalle (15) following closely. The Eagle Ford Shale rig count fell by two this week ending at 127 rigs running across our coverage by midday Thursday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, the Eagleville oil field topped the list of the 100 largest oil fields in the country, unseating Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay for the number one spot.

The U.S. rig count fell again this week by 27 ending, ending with 905 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 222 rigs were targeting natural gas (and decrease of three from the previous week) and 679 were targeting oil in the U.S. (24 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)380 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

The oil rig count fell to 106, down five from this time last week. WTI oil prices continued to inch upwards this week to $58.67, an increase of $1.60. A total of 118 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero rigs are drilling directional wells, and vertical rigs increased to nine.  Webb county is running 19 rigs this week and leads the Eagle Ford pack, with LaSalle (18), DeWitt (17) and Karnes (19) follow closely. The Eagle Ford Shale rig count fell by seven this week ending at 129 rigs running across our coverage by midday Thursday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, the Texas legislature last week to move forward with House Bill 40, which strips local authorities of power to regulate oil and gas in their own cities.

The U.S. rig count fell again this week by another 22 ending at 932 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 225 rigs were targeting natural gas (and increase of eight  from the previous week) and 703 were targeting oil in the U.S. (31 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)393 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

By Midday Friday, natural gas rigs increased by one, totalling 18 rigs. Natural gas prices decreased $.10 from the previous week landing at at $2.5363/mmbtu by week’s end. .

The oil rig count fell to 111 rigs this week.  WTI oil prices increased $1.60 from the previous week, trading at $57.34/bbl on Friday afternoon.. A total of 123 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero rigs are drilling directional wells, and vertical rigs increased to seven.  Karnes (19), Webb (19), LaSalle (17) and DeWitt (16),  have the highest rig counts this week.
