The Eagle Ford Shale rig count gained one, ending the week ending with 44 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, a group of citizens from one Nordheim is suing the Texas Railroad Commission over plans for a waste site in their community.

A total of 479 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, and increase from last week of17. 83 were targeting natural gas (two more than the previous week) and 396 were targeting oil in the U.S. (15 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 230 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

10 rigs in the region targeted natural gas this week with the commodity trading at $2.60/mmbtu.

The Eagle Ford rigs targeting oil dropped to 34 with WTI oil prices inching to $44.49, a $2.83 increase this week. 

A total of 37 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, one is drilling directional wells and six are vertical.

The Eagle Ford Shale gained five rigs this week, ending with 43 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, the Texas oil and gas industry continues to shrink with drillers laying off to 1 in 5 employees since last June, But one analyst says that trend may be slowing.

A total of 462 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, up two from last week. 81 were targeting natural gas (five less than the previous week) and 381 were targeting oil in the U.S. (seven more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 217 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

The Eagle Ford rigs targeting oil increased to 35 with WTI oil prices inching to $41.66, a $.06 decrease this week. 

A total of 38 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, one is drilling directional wells and four are vertical.

Eagle Ford Operators Put Rigs Back Online

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count gained two this week with36 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, a recent report shows that Texas has been hit specifically hard with oil and gas bankruptcies, with more that half (25) of the 2016 filing being initiated in Texas courts. The combined total Texas bankruptcy filings for 2015-16 is 43, representing approximately $29 billion in cumulative debt.

A total of 446 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, up seven over last week. 89 were targeting natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 357 were targeting oil in the U.S. (six more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 202 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.
