Crimson's latest Woodbine well came online at an impressive rate of production.

The Nevill-Mosley #1H came online at 1,164 boe/d or 1,021 b/d of oil and 77 b/d of NGLs, and 392 mcfd. The well was drilled 15,192 ft, including a 6,041 ft lateral, and was completed with a 22-stage fracture completion.

Allan D. Keel, CEO, commented, “The initial success of the Nevill-Mosley further validates the quality of assets Crimson holds in the Woodbine formation.

Crimson has approximately 19,000 net acres in in Madison and Grimes counties targeting the Woodbine. The company estimates more than 490 remaining drilling locations remain. Wells have estimated EURs of 300-550 mmboe, with production weighted 75% or more to oil and NGLs. Average well costs are estimated at $7-7.5 million.

Crimson is also drilling a well, the Beeler #2H, in Dimmit County that is targeting the Buda formation. The well is being drilled to a total measured depth of more than 11,100 ft and will include approximately 4,000 ft of horizontal lateral. Production results are expected in May.

In late April, Crimson & Contango Oil & Gas announced a merger agreement. The new company will be known as Contango Oil & Gas

Crimson Exploration Provides Eagle Ford Update - Woodbine Wells Being Completed

Crimson Exploration provided an operations update on its Eagle Ford wells and is only days away from quantifying the success of Woodbine horizontal wells in Madison County.

In Madison and Grimes counties, TX, Crimson is actively pursuing a drilling program on our 17,500 net acre position that is prospective for the Woodbine, Lewisville and Georgetown formations, among others. The Mosley #1H (88.8% WI), our first horizontal well targeting the Woodbine formation, began flowback operations on March 9th. Initial rates have been very positive as we clean the well up on a smaller choke. The well was drilled to a total measured depth of 15,650 feet, including a 6,300 foot lateral, and was completed using 23 stages of fracture stimulation.

At present, we are also drilling two additional horizontal wells in Madison County. Lateral lengths in both wells will range between 6,000 – 7,000 feet with 20 – 25 stages of fracture stimulation. Production from these wells is expected to commence mid-second quarter.

The company also completed or is completing Eagle Ford wells in Dimmit, Karnes, and Zavala counties:

The Glasscock A #1H (95.5% WI), in Karnes County, TX targeting the Eagle Ford Shale, commenced production at a gross initial production rate of 726 Boepd, or 665 barrels of oil and 365 mcf, on a 13/64th choke and 2,743 psi of casing pressure. Results from prior wells have been reported on 16/64” chokes, and Crimson expects to maintain this well at current choke size to determine the benefit of more restricted rates on EUR in this field. At the end of February, the Glasscock B #1H (93.7% WI) well spud and is currently drilling in the lateral section at 11,687 feet. The B #1H will be drilled to a total measured depth of 15,375 feet, including a 4,350 foot lateral with 18 – 20 stages of fracture stimulation.

In Dimmit County, Texas, the Beeler #1 (50% WI) oil well commenced production in mid-February at a gross 24-hour initial rate of 370 Barrels of oil equivalent, or 337 barrels of oil and 195 thousand cubic feet of natural gas, on an 18/64th choke. The well was drilled to a total measured depth of 14,428 feet, including a 7,200 foot lateral, and was completed using 20 stages of fracture stimulation. The KM Ranch #2H (50% WI) well in Zavala County, our second well in that area, has been drilled to a total measured depth of 12,875 feet, including a 6,100 foot lateral, and is awaiting completion. The completion of that well will be delayed until flowback of the Beeler well and its results can be evaluated, and a determination can be made on whether any change in the completion/flowback recipe for the area should be implemented.

Crimson Eagle Ford Shale - Woodbine Operations Update - February 2012

Crimson Exploration has South Texas operations targeting the Eagle Ford Shale (8,000 net acres) and the company is working to prove the potential of the Woodbine formation in Madison and Grimes Counties (17,000 net acres).   Crimson recently completed an Eagle Ford well in Karnes County that produced over 1,000 boe/d (89% liquids) and the company is currently drilling another well just a mile north.  The Littlepage McBride #7 well falls right in trend with the first seven wells in the area that came online at an average production rate of a little more than 1,000 boe/d. The company is targeting approximately 6,000 ft laterals with 18-20 stage completions in the area. A well in Dimmit (Beeler #1) and a well in Zavala County (KM Ranch #2) are also in various stages of completion. Noteably, the Dimmit County well has a more than 7,000 ft horizontal lateral.

In Madison County, Crimson is on schedule to begin completing the almost 17,000 ft Mosley #1H well in mid-February (now). The company anticipates fracking a 7,500 ft lateral with 20-24 stages. The rig will move just 1.5 miles north to begin the Grace Hall #1H once drilling is completed.

Crimson plans to keep a rig active targeting the Woodbine for all of 2012.

Crimson Exploration Announces Karnes County Well - Spuds Dimmit Well

Crimson Exploration completed a nice Karnes County well, finished drilling a second well and is spudding wells in Karnes and Dimmit counties.  The recently completed well came online producing over 1,000 boe/d at a 14/64ths choke with over 3,000 psi of pressure. Crimson's current plan is to drill in Karnes County through the first quarter of 2012. The Eagle Ford is a major contributor to the company's plan to produce 50% liquids by the middle of 2012.

In Karnes County, the Littlepage McBride #3H, targeting the Eagle Ford Shale formation, commenced production at a gross rate of 1,045 Boepd (965 Bopd and 479 Mcfpd) on a 14/64th choke and 3,057 psi of flowing tubing pressure. The well was drilled to a total measured depth of 16,613 feet, including a 5,918 foot lateral, with 15 stages of frac. The Littlepage McBride #4H, also targeting the Eagle Ford Shale formation, commenced production at a gross rate of 1,126 Boepd (1,002 Bopd and 744 Mcfpd) on a 14/64th choke and 3,072 psi of flowing tubing pressure. The well was drilled to a total measured depth of 16,803 feet, including a 6,061 foot lateral, with 20 stages of frac.

Drilling operations have recently concluded on the Littlepage McBride #6H (53% WI) where the well was drilled to a total measured depth of 16,059 feet, including a 5,290 foot lateral. Located directly to the west, the Littlepage McBride #5H (53% WI) was drilled to a total measured depth of 16,200 feet in October, including a 5,460 foot lateral. It is expected that both wells will be completed, each with 18 stages of frac, by the end of this quarter. The rig was then moved to begin drilling the Littlepage McBride #7H (53% WI). This well is anticipated to be drilled to a total measured depth of 16,700 feet, including a 5,950 foot lateral and 18 stages of frac. Upon completion of drilling the #7H well, the rig will move one mile north to the Glasscock #1H (100% WI) also targeting the Eagle Ford Shale. Crimson intends to have an active program in this area through at least the first quarter of 2012.

In Dimmit County, Texas, Crimson spud the Beeler #1H (50% WI), targeting the Eagle Ford Shale formation. The well is expected to be drilled to a total measured depth of 14,140 feet, including a 7,500 foot lateral, with 15-20 stages of frac. Once drilling operations conclude, the rig will move back to Zavala County prior to year end to drill the KM Ranch #2H (50% WI).
