The Eagle Ford Shale rig count fell by four, ending the week with 94 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, the Texas Railroad Commission Chairman weighs in on the the congressional vote to repeal oil export ban, saying it is an important step closer to energy independence.

A total of 787 were running across the United States this week. 192 rigs were targeting natural gas (three more than the previous week) and 595were targeting oil in the U.S. (10 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)351 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Eagle Ford Oil & Gas Rigs

Natural gas rigs in the Eagle Ford are at 12 this week as natural gas prices traded at $2.43/mmbtu, a $.06 decrease from the previous week.

The oil rig count is at 82 and WTI oil prices ended the week at $47.26, a decrease of $2.92 A total of 85 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, two are drilling directional wells, and seven are vertical rigs. The Eagle Ford Shale rig count fell below 100, ending the week with 98 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, new data is showing the state has lost 28,300 jobs oil and gas jobs since December.

The U.S. rig count fell by 14 this week, ending with 795 rigs running by midday Friday. A total of 189 rigs were targeting natural gas (six less than the previous week) and 605 were targeting oil in the U.S. (9 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)353 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

A total of 88 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, two are drilling directional wells, and eight are vertical rigs. Karnes County leads the region in development with 23 rigs this week. The U.S. rig count plunged by 29 this week, ending with 809 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 195 rigs were targeting natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 614 were targeting oil in the U.S. (26 less than the previous week). The Eagle Ford Shale rig count gained ground this week returning to 103 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

The oil rig count was at 89 and WTI oil prices ended the week at $45.70, an increase of $.70. A total of 89 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, two are drilling directional wells, and 12 are vertical rigs. The U.S. rig count fell by 16 this week, ending with 848 rigs running by midday Friday.  A total of 196 rigs were targeting natural gas (down six from previous week) and 652 were targeting oil in the U.S. (10 less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.)366 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.
