Eagle Ford Rig Count Increases

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count increased by two this week, with our data showing 55 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, The Railroad Commission of Texas recently assessed $556,237 in fines involving 180 enforcement dockets against oil and gas operators and businesses.

A total of 657 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of five over last week. 132 rigs targeted natural gas (three more than the previous week) and 525 were targeting oil in the U.S. (two more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 324 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Eight rigs in the Eagle Ford region targeted natural gas this week with the commodity increasing to $3.72/mmbtu.

47 Eagle Ford rigs were targeting oil with WTI oil prices gaining slightly to $53.72. 

A total of 48 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero are drilling directional wells and seven are vertical.

Eagle Ford Operators Put Rigs Back Online

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count remained flat this week, with our data showing 53 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, the Texas Railroad Commission announced it issued 673 original drilling permits in November 2016 compared, a drop from the 687 issued in November 2015.

A total of 652 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of 15 over last week. 129 rigs targeted natural gas (three more than the previous week) and 523 were targeting oil in the U.S. (13 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 321 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count continued its climb this wee, with our data showing 52 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news,  OPEC announced it will reduce oil production for the first time in eight years. This decision is great news for energy-producing regions in the United States including Texas and the Eagle Ford Shale Play.

A total of 623 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of 27 over last week. 125 rigs targeted natural gas (six more than the previous week) and 498 were targeting oil in the U.S. (21 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 303 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count gained three this week, with our data showing 48 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, South Korean refiner, GS Caltex, announced the purchase of 1 million barrels of U.S. crude from the Eagle Ford. The company previously unloaded another 1 million barrels in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, during November.

A total of 596 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of four over last week. 119 rigs targeted natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 477 were targeting oil in the U.S. (three more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 286 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.
