Eagle Ford Rig Count Unmoved

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count remained flat this holiday week, with our data showing 45 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Wednesday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, Earthstone Energy announced third quarter results last week including plans to initate the completion of its 12-well Eagle Ford inventory.

A total of 592 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of five over last week. 118 rigs targeted natural gas (two more than the previous week) and 474 were targeting oil in the U.S. (three more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 279 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Baker Hughes reports its own Eagle Ford Rig Count that covers the 14 core counties. The rig count published on EagleFordShale.com includes a 30 county area impacted by Eagle Ford development. A full list of the counties included can be found in the table below.

Eagle Ford Oil & Gas Rigs

Nine rigs in the Eagle Ford region targeted natural gas this week with the commodity dropping to $3.04/mmbtu.

36 Eagle Ford rigs were targeting oil with WTI oil prices increasing to $47.43.

A total of 41 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero are drilling directional wells and four are vertical.

Eagle Ford Rig Count at 45

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count increased again this week, with our data showing 45 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, Encana Corp. announced third quarter results including plans to add 100 new locations to its Eagle Ford portfolio.

A total of 587 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of 20 over last week. 116 rigs targeted natural gas (one more than the previous week) and 471 were targeting oil in the U.S. (19 more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 276 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Nine rigs in the Eagle Ford region targeted natural gas this week with the commodity dropping to $2.85/mmbtu.

36 Eagle Ford rigs were targeting oil with WTI oil prices increased to $45.69.

A total of 41 rigs are drilling horizontal wells, zero are drilling directional wells and four are vertical.

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count increased by two this week, with our data showing 44 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, operators and mineral owners in Texas are looking to the 2017 legislative session to bring clarity over allocation wells.

A total of 567 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of zero over last week. 115 rigs targeted natural gas (two less than the previous week) and 452 were targeting oil in the U.S. (two more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 268 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count made gains this week, with our data showing 42 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, Cabot Oil announced plans to allot 21% of its E& P budget to Eagle Ford in 2017.

A total of 567 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of 12 over last week. 117 rigs targeted natural gas (three more than the previous week) and 450 were targeting oil in the U.S. (nine more than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 262 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.

Eagle Ford Rig Count Increases to 40

The Eagle Ford Shale rig count gained one this week, with 40 rigs running across our coverage area by midday Friday.

In recent Eagle Ford news, international energy company, Statoil, announced the creation of a new fund to benefit the Eagle Ford Shale region of south Texas.

A total of 555 oil and gas rigs were running across the United States this week, a gain of four from last week. 114 rigs targeted natural gas (six more than the previous week) and 441 were targeting oil in the U.S. (two less than the previous week). The remainder were drilling service wells (e.g. disposal wells, injection wells, etc.) 256 of the rigs active in the U.S. were running in Texas.
