The Eagle Ford Shale dominated business news in South Texas during 2012. The San Antonio Express News recently ranked the play tops for 2012 in a list of business news developments in the past year.
Eagle Ford production topped the equivalent of 1 million barrels of oil per day in the third quarter. New “man camps,” RV parks and hotels to house workers continued to open. And the activity was visible in the road damage, heavy truck traffic and accidents across the region in 2012.
The play added thousands of jobs in the San Antonio area and is expected to be an economic catalyst for years to come.
