Sanchez Energy’s proved reserves are up 178% from a little more than 20 million boe at year-end 2012 to 58.9 million boe at December 31, 2013.

Reserves increased as a result of successful development in the Eagle Ford and multiple acquisitions during 2013.

Sanchez Energy has set its capital budget for 2014 at $650-700 million.

Approximately 95% ($617-665 million) will be spent on drilling and completing wells and 90% of that ($556-599 million) will be spent in the Eagle Ford.

Sanchez expects to double production in 2014 and average 21,000-23,000 boe/d. [Read more…]

Sanchez Energy¬† grew production to to 11,774 boe/d in the third quarter. That’s more than 50% growth since the second quarter. Even more impressively, the company has grown production 710% since the third quarter of 2012.

Don’t expect production growth to slow in the fourth quarter. The company has six rigs running, 19 wells in various stages of completion, and expects production of 15,000-17,000 boe/d in the final quarter of the year. [Read more…]

Goodrich Petroleum has planned for a capital budget of $175-$200 million in 2013. Of that, $115-137 million will be spent to drill 24-28 gross (16-19 net) wells targeting the Eagle Ford. The rest of the company’s budget will be spent between the Haynesville Shale and Tuscaloosa Marine Shale plays.

Production growth will be mute as the company goes full force into its liquids producing plays. Natural gas volumes will decline and oil volumes are expected to roughly offset the decrease. [Read more…]

Louisiana Eagle Ford Well Result Promising

Indigo’s recent well results indicate the commercial extent of the Eagle Ford could extend into Louisiana. Indigo recently completed a successful well in Rapides Parish, La, that flowed over 500 boe/d over a 24 hour period.

The company plans to sell an operated interest in its assets in early 2012 and then begin development of the play. For reference, here’s a simplified cross section of the Eagle Ford from Texas to Louisiana.
